Goodbye Octavia Butler

February 27th, 2006 -- posted in Goodbye

I recently wrote about her current book and I am absolutely heartbroken over the death of Octavia Butler.
Thank you for the wonderful, private moments wrapped in the worlds that you created Ms. Butler. Your written tapestries are unmatched, fierce, nurturing and infectious.
See you in the next life.

Arthur Magazine

February 26th, 2006 -- posted in Indie, Sweet Indie

It was a hot and humid day here in New York City last summer, when I found myself on the same block as Other Music. So I slipped in to mooch some of their AC and this is where I came across my first issue of Arthur Magazine.
I read it religously now.
It is […]

The School of Visual Arts presents “DISARM…New Year, New Use,” an exhibition of M-16 rifles that have been transformed into everyday objects. 3D Design students in the BFA Advertising and Graphic Design Department used replicas of the now-ubiquitous firearm to make statements of peace. Their designs range from a baby carriage and grandfather clock to […]

February 20th, 2006 -- posted in Peculiar Pixels, Visuals

Elliot Jokelson makes music videos. Intriguing little snippets of escapism unlike what you will find on heavy rotation for the masses on TV. How unfortunate for those shackled to their television but hoorah for the slaves of the internet.
Speaking of TV, his site features 2 videos for TV on the Radio whom I enjoy so […]

Once Upon a Time, There Was Atomage

February 15th, 2006 -- posted in Visuals

Fleshbot dug up this little nugget of Fetishism past. See, once upon a time boys and girls, it was naughty to be fully clothed and thanks to Atomage we have pretty pictures to ogle of this fact. Note how the quintessential Domme look has not changed much over the years.
I quess I am […]

Jesus Does Not Read Playgirl

February 15th, 2006 -- posted in People Peeping

As per this article, former Playgirl show and tell model Kevin Talley turned down Playgirls Man of the Year title because Jesus said “Ix-nay he-tay laygirl-pay!” (who know that Esus-jey liked to practice his pig Latin) - which is short for “Nix the Playgirl. The hustle ain’t working for you no more. ”
